  • Driver Tobias Wöllmer has received one of the Actros Edition 2 trucks, limited to 400 vehicles, at the Mercedes‑Benz plant in Wörth

  • Around 40 items of special equipment provide for that certain „wow“ effect

  • Stylish interior: nappa leather for the instrument panel and door handles, a range of parts with a carbon fibre look, a roof hatch with ambient lighting and many more features

Stuttgart/Wörth am Rhein – Tobias Wöllmer from the Gressel haulage company in Neustadt an der Aisch recently collected his Actros Edition 2 from the Customer Centre at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth. The driver now drives a special model limited to 400 units.

On the day he was to pick up the truck, Wöllmer set off early with Pascal Ertel, a truck salesman from the Mercedes‑Benz Truck Center in Nuremberg and shared his excitement with his colleagues: „They’ve been calling me since around 6 a.m. this morning. They all want to know whether I’m already sitting in it. This truck is just something special.“

The truck is Wöllmer’s ideal vehicle; Pascal Ertel helped him to configure it. And which details is Wöllmer most happy about? „The instrument panel covered in nappa leather and the steering wheel are definitely highlights.“ His boss had told him months ago that it was time for a new vehicle. Wöllmer then researched on the internet. He found an article about the Actros Edition 2 on RoadStars, the driver community for Mercedes-Benz Trucks. „Straight away, I knew that that was what I wanted.“ His boss, for whom Wöllmer has been working for 16 years, gave him the go-ahead.

The front of the Actros Edition 2 is always moonstone grey metallic. For his truck, Wöllmer chose this colour for the paintwork on the whole vehicle. He selected the GigaSpace variant for the cab – it is the largest available and has the space to match. This is ideal, because as a rule he is on the road the entire week. The unique SoloStar Concept in the truck offers a comfortable chair and table instead of the co-driver’s seat. That creates much more legroom and contributes to more relaxed breaks – something else Wöllmer is particularly looking forward to. Another highlight of his premium truck with the three-pointed star is the powerful 12.8-litre six-cylinder inline engine with an output of 390 kW.

In the handover hall, staff from the Customer Centre explained the function of the new Mercedes‑Benz flagship in detail to Wöllmer.

Actros Edition 2: a home from home

Up to 40 items of special equipment ensure that drivers who have seen the Actros Edition 2 once, recognise the truck immediately the next time. The interior is accessed via the stainless steel entry steps. The high-quality special equipment in it creates a true feeling of well-being and first-class comfort. The main menu in the display of the multimedia cockpit has even been adapted with a star pattern for the Edition 2. The Edition logo made of brushed aluminium on the co-driver’s side catches your eye immediately.

The illuminated Mercedes star in the black trim is also part of the exterior. The decorative grille elements are in dark chrome, while the headlamp surround is darkened.

The special model can be ordered for all two and three-axle vehicles of the latest Actros generation with GigaSpace and BigSpace cabs.
